Prof. Dr. Frank Emmert

Biography

Prof. Dr. Frank Emmert is a tenured professor of law and Director of the Center for International & Comparative Law at Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. He is also a Member of the Advisory Board, Qatar University School of Law, Doha. In 2011, he co-founded the Council on International Law and Politics (CILP), Chicago, USA, where he currently serves as Director of Programming.

Prof. Emmert is a member of the bar in Germany since 1992, an academic member of American Bar Association, and a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has over 25 years of experience representing clients in international commercial and trade transactions and disputes, including competition law enforcement, and is qualified as an international arbitrator for commercial disputes.

Prof. Emmert holds Ph.D. from the University of Maastricht, Netherlands, Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and Diploma in European Community Law and Human Rights Law from the Academy of European Law, Florence, Italy.

Tapping into his immense experience in legal matters, Prof. Emmert heads Legal Development at PrepayWay. Drawing on his knowledge of the law and his experience in arbitration and mediation, he guides PrepayWay as it develops innovative and unique solutions for real estate transactions based on smart contracts and blockchain technology.
